The History ofRevival Center Ministries
In the Beginning....Revival Center Ministries had its first fellowship meeting on May 14, 1980, in a small storefront on Mini Drive in Vallejo, California. From the beginning, the power of God was displayed and the Word of God was confirmed with signs following. Many people were saved, delivered, and baptized in the Holy Spirit. The Original Eight.....There were eight original members but God continued to add to the ministry and Revival Center soon outgrew the small storefront on Mini Drive. Revival Center eventually moved into a facility on Amador Street, which had formerly been a dance studio. In a brief two years Revival Center had out grown this facility as well.
The next three years were spent sharing a building with another local congregation, blessing and being blessed. But again, Revival Center's numbers surpassed the seating capacity of the building and we began a week by week journey through the city of Vallejo, renting high school auditoriums, community centers, and any other available facility which could accommodate our growing numbers. This continued for almost a year.
In 1988 Revival Center Ministries moved into a rented warehouse, where we spent the next five years. By this time the original eight members had grown to 500. During this time was the birth of the Revival Center Bible School. This training arm of the ministry licensed and ordained ministers and elders that went out and established satellite churches in the surrounding areas; Fairfield, Suisun, Oakland, Richmond, Hercules and Sacramento.
In 1993, the warehouse we were renting was sold, and again the ministry had to move. The next two years were spent without a permanent facility, but instead of losing members, the group of 500 expanded to over 1200 members. In 1995 Revival Center Ministries moved into it's current facility at 910 Tennessee Street in the City of Vallejo.
In 2003 Revival Center continued it's growth by acquiring 2 additional buildings adjacent to the 910 Tennessee Street building. The new facilities provided dedicated spaces to RCM's Teen and Children's Churches, and Revival Center Training Institute. The Fall of 2006 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Revival Center Training Institute (Formerly known as Revival Center Bible School).
